How to Launch the PWA Standard App on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in Two Weeks?

For Dietly, a marketplace for diet catering, we implemented a Customer Panel on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
About Dietly
Dietly.pl is a search and comparison engine of more than 300 diet catering companies, which allows you to order food boxes online in thousands of locations across the country. With tens of thousands of customer opinions, expert reviews and a preview of the current menu and up-to-date price lists, everyone can find a diet catering service to suit their needs. In addition, Dietly’s universal Customer Panel allows you to manage your order – deliveries, and menus to the extent that a caterer using the Dietly Panel solution allows.
Mobile user experience
Dietly.pl, in an effort to match its portfolio to the growing expectations of mobile customers, set its sights on launching a Customer Panel in the form of an application (previously built as a PWA), available with TWA and Apache Cordova technology on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
"When we saw the high engagement, and conversions in the catering Customer Panel, we decided to take it a step further and allow customers to download mobile apps that are always at hand on their phone. This is another step to make it easier for both consumers and caterers to communicate using new technologies. For the time being, customers using the Dietly Panel can, for example, manage addresses and delivery dates, but also collect loyalty points, change meals and rate them."
What does TWA provide?
In most cases, TWA can completely replace a native application.
The main benefits of using this technology are:
- faster and cheaper production process than native applications;
- facilitated update process so that users always use the current version of the application;
- data sharing – both application and website data are collected in one place, so that users do not have to re-enter login information and can easily find previously viewed content;
- much smaller application size than native applications.
What does Apache Cordova provide?
Apache Cordova is a framework that has libraries and interfaces that provide access to a wide range of device APIs running on various operating systems, including Apple’s iOS.
By using this, all application functions work the same or similarly regardless of the system. We use it as an extended form of container for a PWA application that functions for end users and engages them in the same way as native applications.

Implementation
The implementation was divided into three stages:
Configuring accounts and company and app settings in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Packaging the Dietly Customer Panel using Apache Cordova and Trusted Web Activities technologies.
Deploying Dietly’s Customer Panel in the marketplace with Apple App Store and Google Play Store mobile apps.
Outcome
We launched the PWA customer panel app within 2 weeks, and it is available for download in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
It has made the management of food box orders much simpler and more convenient, and any “last-minute” change that previously had to be reported via the website can be made directly in the app. From now on, changes of addresses and delivery days are available directly in the individual and mobile Customer Panel.
