Streamlining Amway's Signup Process with eSign

Amway

A time-saving breakthrough for the company's direct-sales network

22 Sep 2016

Amway needs to increase new registrations and users need to register with Amway easily.

Until now the process was lengthy and complicated. eSign meets these challenges with a friendly digital experience. eSign enables individual business owners registering through the Amway Online e-commerce platform to electronically sign their contracts. eSign already accounted for nearly 50% of all contract signatures after its pilot launch in the first 3 markets, which was a milestone in the acquisition of new users. By the end of the year eSign will operate on all 27 of Amway’s European markets.

Instant Adoption

eSign, an electronic signature widget powered by Adobe, has fully digitized the registration process by getting rid of the paper form that users had to print, sign and send via traditional mail. There are no more returns of incorrectly completed forms too. As a result, contract authorization takes 5 times shorter than it used to. With eSign, the registration process has become much more welcoming for the applicants, therefore half of them already chose this way of signing the contract during the first month.

Customer Retention

After the successful pilot launch in Poland, the UK and Ireland, eSign has been introduced to the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Greece, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. In the next 2 months, completing the registration process with an electronic signature will be possible in France, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Germany Italy and Austria. Digitization of the final step of the registration process is a response to users' feedback and is expected to decrease the drop-out rate of registrations at this stage by 1.5%.

Business Value

Automation of paper file processing through the underlying technology will reduce the involvement of two of Amway’s intermediary departments, saving both time and costs. An increased number of completed registrations means more order incentives and potential revenue growth. The expected business value will become attainable by leading users smoothly through all required action points to placing the first order.

There are 3 steps to starting business in Amway – filling in the registration form, placing the first order and signing the contract. eSign fixes the pain point that made the process unnecessarily difficult or even discouraged applicants from completing it altogether. Digital signature is a major shift towards growing Amway's MLM network.
