Working at e-point

“Become a System Architect!”: first edition of our workshop

In April, we shared our practical knowledge with the students who participated in the “Become a System Architect” workshop. The selected candidates spent three days in the company of our most experienced Architects, and broadened their technical and business knowledge under their watchful eye.

Workshop participants quickly found out that the role of an Architect is not only difficult, but at the same time constitutes an incredible challenge for people open to making contacts with customers and the entire development team while working towards a common goal.

During the workshop, six students met with real problems that our Architects, long time e-point employees, helped to fix. The most important thing students learned during the workshop was, first of all, knowledge about the nature of work of System Architects, their key responsibilities and usual areas of operation. The biggest focus was on the practicality of the workshops. On one hand, this means that the tackled problems were real. On the other hand, we didn’t want to make a lecture, so we prepared many practical exercises which, in order to solve, required students to really strain their brains while working in teams, exchanging experiences and presenting results of their work to a wider audience. Additionally, all the issues the participants worked on were illustrated with stories from everyday life, which not only reflected the problems but also suggested new possibilities. It was this practicality that was appreciated the most by the participants.

"A big thank you for organizing this workshop. Especially for the substantive nature and practicality of the workshop, which allowed me to learn the elements of the Architect’s work I knew nothing about".

As it often happens on such occasions, there was no end to questions from the audience, so we talked for a long time about various real-life e-point project-related cases. It turns out that this practical nature of the workshop was appreciated by the participants the most, and they praised us for it.

"Because the Architects were willing to transfer as much knowledge and experience as possible, and not just “do their job”, the training lasted much longer".

During the workshop, the participants had an opportunity to get to know us as an employer, to explore a bit of e-point’s work culture, to see how we perform our tasks and learn how employees communicate while working on projects.

"Great attitude of trainers, their strong commitment, and good professional preparation".

During the meetings, we were able to build a really positive and energetic atmosphere, conducive to the exchange of ideas and cooperation, as well as establishing relations that may bear fruit in the future.
